The Oswaldo Cruz House, a unit of the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (FIOCRUZ), has opened the selection process for the Academic Master’s Program in Science, Technology, and Health Communication. The announcement offers 15 slots in free online courses for the class of 2025, focusing on training researchers in science communication, encouraging integration between health, science, technology, and society.
The courses aim to train highly qualified researchers capable of contributing new knowledge and strategies to the field of science communication. The area of concentration encompasses studies on the national and international landscape, emphasizing recent transformations, discussing emerging topics in this field. The minimum workload is 48 credits, divided between theoretical courses and the development of a dissertation. The course duration is 12 to 24 months, and classes may be held in person on the Fiocruz campus in Rio de Janeiro or, if necessary, conducted remotely.
Available Slots and Selection Process
There are 15 slots available for the courses, distributed between general competition and affirmative action, as follows: one slot for people with disabilities, three for Black individuals (Black and Brown), and one for Indigenous people. The program reserves the right not to fill all slots, depending on the candidates’ suitability to the expected profile.

Applications for the free courses will be open from September 2 to October 14, 2024. The remote written exam is scheduled for October 21, 2024, and the final results will be announced on December 12, 2024.
