About the Works of the Northern Section of the Rodoanel in São Paulo
The entire Rodoanel spans 176.5 km. The works on the section will converge the road with the Raimundo Pereira Magalhães avenue (SP-332), while the Eastern Section will meet with the Presidente Dutra highway (BR-116). Four lanes of traffic in each direction will be constructed between the Western Rodoanel and the Fernão Dias highway (BR-381), and three lanes of traffic will be constructed in the section between Fernão Dias (BR-381) and Via Dutra (BR-116).
In December 2018, the deadline for completion of the works had already been extended to 2019, which faced further delays. The section has already cost R$ 7.3 billion and, according to government estimates, an additional R$ 2 billion will be spent to complete the project.
