Gazin Group Invests R$ 16 Million in Solar Power Plants, Which Will Generate Savings on Future Energy Bills
The Gazin Group, which operates in various market segments and has hundreds of business units across Brazil, along with Domínio Solar, made a R$ 16 million investment in 2020 in two solar power plants, located in the states of MT and MS. The projects are expected to generate R$ 4 million in savings on electricity bills for the Gazin Group.

The new solar plants are part of the project “The Sun Rises for Everyone,” created by the company in 2016, aiming to achieve self-sufficiency in corporate consumption. With the final adjustments and tests at the Jaciara plant, the two generator sets of the UFV will be able to produce 5.8 million kilowatt-hours per year in distributed generation mode, and the expectation is that the plants will meet 60% of the energy demand for 296 stores.
According to company information, in addition to sustainable development and energy savings, objectives should also be outlined to avoid being caught off guard by rising energy and electricity price signals, which will help develop more reliable energy cost plans.

The world has bet on green hydrogen as the fuel of the future, but now faces the side effect: producing 1 kilogram requires about 9 liters of ultrapure water, and the largest projects on the planet are precisely in the driest regions of the Earth, where water is already scarce for people.
The new assets inaugurated were developed in cooperation with Domínio Solar, from Curitiba, which is responsible for the engineering project and guidance in the selection of areas and equipment, as well as having developed the implementation, installation, accreditation, and subsequent development of energy utilities.
Cesar Augusto, CEO of Domínio Solar, stated that “We have even contributed to meeting the energy demand of regions that suffered from constant supply fluctuations, thanks to distributed generation projects.”
