Registration for the new selection process of the National Institute of Historic and Artistic Heritage (Iphan) opened on Monday (9) and there are 31 temporary Iphan vacancies available for positions such as Environmental Analyst, Archaeologist, Anthropologist, Architect and Urban Planner, Heritage Educator, and Data Geoprocessing Specialist. Requirements for Participation in the Iphan Selection Process
The selection process includes 31 temporary Iphan vacancies for higher education, with salaries ranging from R$ 6 thousand to R$ 9 thousand, depending on the specialty. Those interested in the opportunities in the Iphan selection process must have a completed higher education degree in any field of study for the position of Environmental Analyst. For other positions, specific training in the area for which the opportunity is being offered is required.
In addition, according to the announcement, Brazilian nationality is also required, a minimum age of 18 years by the date of appointment, being in full enjoyment of political rights, being up to date with electoral obligations, and, if male, also with military obligations, among others.

The approved candidates in the selection process of Iphan will be entitled to an initial salary of R$ 7,681.70 for the environmental analyst position, but it can reach R$ 14,274.86 depending on the candidate’s qualifications.
For other positions, salaries can reach R$ 10,047, already including the food allowance of R$ 1,000. Those who are hired will work a 40-hour weekly schedule. The vacancies in the Iphan selection process are distributed as follows:
- Heritage Education: 2 vacancies;
- Data Geoprocessing: 5 vacancies;
- Anthropology: 2 vacancies;
- Environmental Analyst: 5 vacancies;
- Architecture and Urbanism: 2 vacancies;
- Archaeology: 15 vacancies.
Learn How to Register for the Iphan Selection Process
Registrations will be open until January 7, 2025, through the Getúlio Vargas Foundation, the organizing body of the selection process.
The steps to register include accessing the electronic address and then filling out the registration request, automatically generating the Union Payment Guide, which must be printed and paid in cash at any bank branch or through electronic means. It is entirely the candidate’s responsibility to print and keep the receipt.
The registration fee is R$ 110 and can be paid through the GRU provided by FGV. Requests for exemption from the registration fee for the Iphan selection process can be made between December 9, 2024, and December 11, for bone marrow donors and beneficiaries of the Unified Registry for Social Programs (CadÚnico), through the FGV website.
Selection Has Two Stages
The Iphan selection process consists of two stages: the objective test and title evaluation. The objective test will be held on February 23, 2025, from 2 PM to 6 PM. The evaluation will be eliminatory and classificatory, with locations to be announced on the FGV website.
The exam will consist of two modules, with 80 questions, each worth one point. A candidate will be considered approved in this stage of the Iphan selection process if they score at least 40 points on the test, with a minimum of 10 points in each module.
The last stage will be the title examination for candidates approved in the objective test, which is classificatory in nature. The distribution will occur as follows:
- Master’s Degree: 0.75 per title (maximum 1.5 points);
- Graduate Studies (minimum 360h): 0.5 per title (maximum 1 point);
- Doctorate: 1.25 per title (maximum 2.5 points).
