According to information from IFSC, enrollments are open until October 24 for more than 2 thousand places in 54 different courses, spread across 15 cities in Santa Catarina.
Among these places, about 1,400 are allocated for technical high school education, while 600 places are reserved for subsequent technical courses aimed at those who have already completed high school.
All courses are free, and successful candidates will start classes in the first semester of 2025.
The exams will be held on November 24 for those wishing to enroll in courses that require this form of selection, both for technical high school education and for subsequent courses.
However, there are courses whose selection will be made by lottery, and in this case, enrollments will start in November.
Diversity of Courses in Different Cities
IFSC offers a wide range of technical training options, with places distributed across various cities in Santa Catarina.
According to the institute, the courses are made available strategically to meet both market demand and student interest. Among the available courses are:
- Campus Araranguá: Electromechanics, Fashion Production, and Textiles.
- Campus Canoinhas: Food, Construction, and Computer Science.
- Campus Chapecó: Systems Development and Renewable Energy Systems.
- Campus Criciúma: Construction, Mechatronics, and Chemistry.
- Campus Florianópolis: Construction, Electronics, Electrotechnics, Mechatronics, Chemistry, and Sanitation.
These are just a few examples available. Each city has a course schedule that varies according to local needs and the infrastructure available on campus.
Who Can Apply?
According to IFSC, the technical courses integrated with high school are aimed at students who have already completed elementary school or who are about to do so by January 2025.
This modality allows students to complete high school and technical training simultaneously with just one enrollment.
Subsequent courses, on the other hand, are aimed at those who have already completed high school or who can prove this completion by the time of enrollment.
Moreover, half of the places are reserved for students from public schools through the quota system.
Within this reserve, there are still subcategories for low-income candidates, self-declared black, brown, indigenous, quilombola, and people with disabilities.
Enrollments and Fee Waiver
Although the courses are completely free, it is necessary to pay an enrollment fee of R$ 55 to take the selection exam.
However, candidates registered in CadÚnico, belonging to low-income families or who are regular blood donors may request a waiver of this fee at the time of enrollment.
Selection Exam
The selection process will consist of 28 multiple-choice questions, covering topics from subjects such as science, geography, history, Portuguese language, and mathematics.
For the integrated technical courses, the questions will be based on the elementary school content. For the subsequent courses, the level of difficulty will correspond to high school.

Enrollment is done entirely online, through the IFSC Enrollment Portal. The process is simple and quick, as advised by the institute:
