Junqueirópolis will have R$ 164.7 million in basic sanitation works until 2060, with actions to reduce water losses, expand supply, modernize sewage treatment, and bring the municipality closer to the goals of the New Legal Framework by 2033.
R$ 164.7 million will be invested in Junqueirópolis to expand basic sanitation until 2060, with a priority of R$ 60.4 million until 2033, reduction of water losses, and modernization in UniversalizaSP.
Basic sanitation targets water losses
Junqueirópolis, in the region of Presidente Prudente, records losses of 57.27% in water distribution. The diagnosis of UniversalizaSP placed this index among the municipality’s biggest challenges and set the goal to reduce it to 25% by 2033.
The plan includes macromeasurement throughout the system, network sectorization, pressure-reducing valves, and renewal of old pipelines. It also includes gradual replacement of water meters, research on non-visible leaks, automation, cadastral updating, and continuous monitoring.

Supply should reach more areas
In the water area, treatment systems are planned in Duas Barras and Vila São João. The planning also seeks to expand service in urban and rural areas not yet covered by services.
The works include improvements in reservoirs, modernization of networks, and expansion of distribution infrastructure. In rural communities, there will be new tubular wells with chlorination and sewage technologies, such as biodigesters, septic tanks, anaerobic filters, and soakaways.
Sewage, social tariff, and public consultation
In sanitary sewage, actions include improvements in ETEs Matadouro and Carreiro, expansion of operational capacity, environmental regularization, and replacement of old networks. The plan also foresees correction of irregular rainwater connections.
The New Legal Framework establishes 99% of the population with potable water and 90% with sewage collection and treatment by 2033. In Junqueirópolis, the projection reaches 99.9% water coverage and 98.8% sanitary sewage.
UniversalizaSP will have a social tariff, with discounts of 50% or more for low-income families. The public consultation continues with a virtual meeting on 05/27 and submission of contributions until the end of the month.
