Confirmed for 2025, Leapmotor SUV, Stellantis’ Partner Brand, Bets on Innovative Technology That Uses Gasoline Engine Only as a Generator to Eliminate Range Anxiety Once and for All.
The Leapmotor C10 is confirmed for Brazil and arrives with an intelligent solution to the main concern of electric vehicle drivers: range. In addition to a 100% electric version, the SUV will have an option with Range Extender (REEV), which combines a combustion engine with an electric one to achieve the impressive mark of almost 1,000 km without stopping to recharge.
What Is the Leapmotor C10?
The Leapmotor C10 is a Medium-Large SUV that will mark the brand’s debut in the Brazilian market. With a length of 4.74 meters and a wheelbase of 2.83 m, it positions itself as a spacious family vehicle. Its design is modern, with flush door handles and a minimalist interior, where most functions are concentrated on a large floating screen on the dashboard.
The Version with Range Extender (REEV)
The big strategy of the Leapmotor C10 is the offering of the REEV (Range-Extended Electric Vehicle) version. Unlike a regular hybrid, in this system the gasoline engine never directly moves the car. Its sole function is to act as a generator, producing energy to recharge the battery while the vehicle is in motion. The wheel drive is always 100% electric.

How Does the Technology That Runs for Almost 1,000 km Work?
In practice, the REEV version of the Leapmotor C10 uses a 1.5 gasoline engine with 95 hp to power the electric system. With the LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery fully charged, the SUV can travel up to 145 km in purely electric mode. When the battery charge reaches a low level, the combustion engine is automatically activated to generate more electricity, extending the total range to an incredible 970 km, according to the European WLTP cycle.
And What About the Fully Electric Version?
For those who are ready for the purely electric experience, the Leapmotor C10 will also be sold in a 100% battery version. In this case, the model features an electric motor with 231 hp and 32.6 kgfm of torque. The battery, with a 69.9 kWh capacity, guarantees a range of up to 420 km on a single charge, also following the WLTP standards.
Launch in Brazil and the Partnership with Stellantis
The arrival of Leapmotor in Brazil is the result of a global joint venture with the Stellantis group (owner of Fiat, Jeep, Ram, and Peugeot), which acquired part of the Chinese company. The launch of the Leapmotor C10 in the country is confirmed for the second half of 2025, with both versions: the pure electric and the innovative REEV with range extender.
