On Monday (27), President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva left for Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, in order to attend COP 28 (28th Climate Conference), an event of extreme relevance to the global debate on climate change. His participation in this important international event demonstrates the Brazilian leader's commitment to environmental issues of global reach.
On Sunday (27), the former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva left for Dubai ( Emirados Arabes Unidos, in order to participate in the COP 28, the 28th Conference of the Climate of the United Nations. On the occasion, he will be accompanied by the Minister of Agriculture (Mapa), Carlos Fávaro.
The event will take place between Thursday (30) and 12 December and will be attended by several authorities from different countries to discuss agreements that aim to reduce the impacts of climate changes. Afterwards, Lula will head to the Saudi Arabia and Qatar in order to discuss the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
It is important to highlight that Saudi Arabia is the world's largest exporter of oil, a fossil fuel with a significant impact on climate change. After COP28, Lula will proceed to Germany, where he will have working meetings scheduled with German authorities to discuss the conclusion of the agreement between the Mercosul and European Union.

What will be discussed in Saudi Arabia? On Tuesday (28), President Lula will meet with the country's crown prince and prime minister, Mohammed Bin Salman Al-Saud. During the conversation, they will address the expansion of trade between countries and the possibility of investments Saudis in Brazil.
They will also discuss the participation of the country's public fund, Salic, in Brazil's sustainable food production program, led by Mapa. Lula's expectation is to guarantee investments for infrastructure works under the Growth Acceleration Plan (PAC) and in sectors such as animal protein and renewable energy.
