Giant Ship Achieves Unprecedented Feat in Its 10th Test
A SpaceX, billionaire Elon Musk’s company, achieved an unprecedented result this Tuesday (26).
The Starship, considered the most powerful spacecraft in the world, successfully launched a payload into space for the first time.
This feat occurred during the 10th test flight, conducted from the Boca Chica launch site in Texas.
The launch took place at 8:30 PM Brasília time.
First Payload Launch with Eight Satellites
This time, the Starship transported eight prototypes of Starlink satellites, the satellite internet company of SpaceX itself.
This launch marks a significant advancement.
In the previous mission, in May 2025, the spacecraft failed to deploy its payload.
Although the ship achieved its objective, it landed about an hour after the launch in the Indian Ocean.
Upon touching the water, it became engulfed in flames.
The company did not detail the reasons for the incident.
Starship Test History Since 2023
Since April 2023, Starship has undergone increasingly complex tests, with notable failures and advancements.
In the first two flights, in April and November 2023, the spacecraft and its booster exploded. After that, SpaceX implemented 17 improvements, according to the FAA.
In March 2024, despite the destruction after 50 minutes, the mission represented progress.
In June, the spacecraft made its first controlled landing in the Indian Ocean, while the booster fell into the Gulf of Mexico.
In the following months, the company conducted the first rocket capture by the tower, sea tests, and in January 2025, managed to recover the booster.
However, they lost contact with the spacecraft, which left wreckage in Haiti.

For the first time in history, solar and wind energy generated more electricity than natural gas worldwide in a single month, April 2026, a milestone in the energy transition that shows renewable sources taking the lead in the global electric system.
Recent Launches and Mixed Results
In the tests of March and May 2025, the results were partially disappointing.
In March, SpaceX lost contact with the spacecraft after ten minutes of flight.
Debris fell in the Bahamas, affecting 240 commercial flights in the U.S., according to local authorities.
In the May test, there was another loss of contact.
The spacecraft failed to open the door to release simulator satellites.
Despite this, the Super Heavy rocket was reused, even with issues during the return.
The 10th launch marked the first successful delivery of payload.
The result represented a fundamental advancement for the company’s next steps.
Future Prospects and Planned Missions
With this achievement, SpaceX is consistently advancing towards using the Starship for even more ambitious missions.
Furthermore, the spacecraft is expected to integrate into the Artemis III mission, organized by NASA.
This mission plans to take astronauts to the Moon, with a planned launch for September 2026, marking an important step.
In the meantime, Elon Musk stays committed to the goal of using the Starship for future crewed trips to Mars.
However, this type of mission represents an unprecedented challenge for humanity, especially in terms of technology and safety.
For this reason, the company continues constantly improving rocket reuse to reduce risks.
This strategy could significantly cut costs on space flights, making access to space more viable.
Even with advancements, it is still unclear if the Starship is truly ready to transform space transportation definitively.
Or will it still face more obstacles before reaching the Moon and Mars?
