The Janaúba Solar Power Plant Will Feature NX Solar Trackers, One of the Most Technological in the Renewable Energy Sector
Nextracker, the largest American manufacturer of solar trackers, a subsidiary of Flex, announced via a statement that it was contacted by the Brazilian EPC leader Andrade Gutierrez and the former developer Brookfield, now Elera Renováveis, to supply a total of 830 MW of its NX solar trackers, which will be in phase I of the Janaúba solar power plant in Minas Gerais.

The world has bet on green hydrogen as the fuel of the future, but now faces the side effect: producing 1 kilogram requires about 9 liters of ultrapure water, and the largest projects on the planet are precisely in the driest regions of the Earth, where water is already scarce for people.
Nextracker reported that it has supplied over 45 GW of its NX Horizon solar tracker, stating that it will help Elera Renováveis increase the performance levels of the Janaúba plant, reducing operational costs.
“Nextracker’s regional office in Brazil will support the project with engineering consulting, as well as commissioning services, asset management, and advanced data analysis for preventive maintenance. Installation teams will benefit from Nextracker’s PowerworX Academy installer training program to learn best practices on-site and at the company’s training center in Sorocaba, São Paulo.”, the company added.
Solar Power Plants Sector in the Country
Brazil is currently one of the largest growing solar energy hubs in the Latin America region, with about 7.4 GW of installed capacity. The state of Minas Gerais tops the list of Brazilian states with high solar energy generation and supply capacity.
Now, the state is preparing to make way for the solar tracker line from Nextracker, the world’s largest supplier of photovoltaic system technology.
