Electrolux Announces Sustainable Factory in São José dos Pinhais, in the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba, Creating More Than 2 Thousand Jobs and Million-Dollar Investment
Electrolux, one of the largest home appliance companies in the world, recently announced an investment of R$ 700 million and the creation of more than 2 thousand jobs for the construction of a new entirely sustainable factory in São José dos Pinhais, in the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba. The new unit is expected to generate more than two thousand jobs, which is very positive news for the region, which has been facing economic difficulties in recent years.

1st Factory in Latin America with 0 Carbon Emissions
The new factory will aim to expand the production capacity of current refrigeration lines and produce models that are currently imported. When it goes into operation, it will be the first factory in Latin America with zero carbon emissions and that will operate using 100% renewable energy. Additionally, the factory will have a permanent preservation area, which will occupy 20% of more than 1.5 million square meters of land. These sustainable measures are a growing trend in the business world as companies seek ways to minimize their impact on the environment.
New Electrolux Unit Will Serve Other Countries
According to the president of Electrolux, Leandro Jasiocha, the project will be implemented in two phases. In addition to the domestic market, the new unit is expected to serve other countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, such as Argentina, Uruguay, and Chile, with exports being made through the Port of Paranaguá. The logistics in Paraná were an essential factor in the choice of the new factory’s location, according to the director of Operations at Electrolux Latin America, Ramez Chamma Junior.
