Although Using Different Platforms, The Honda Accord Hybrid and CR-V Share The Same e:HEV System, Which Is More Powerful Than That of The Honda Civic Hybrid.
Most of the time, Honda maintains a rather low profile regarding its launch strategy. The company always claims that “it does not comment on future intentions,” but last year, in 2022, it decided to play with an open hand. The manufacturer had announced all of its launches in advance, with the exception of just one model: the new Honda Accord Hybrid.
The Honda Accord Hybrid, which debuted in the United States in November of last year, is confirmed for Brazil and is expected to enter our market in the second half of this year. There is a good chance that it will be Honda’s last product launch in the busy year of 2022. The company has already announced the production of four more models, in addition to the recently launched Civic Hybrid.
The next vehicle on the agenda should be the Honda ZR-V, which is a medium SUV derived from the Civic and will compete with the Toyota Corolla Cross.

Volkswagen prepares new national hybrid Tukan to compete with Fiat Strada, Toro, Montana, and BYD’s advancement in Brazil with a 1.5 turbo flex engine, 48V MHEV system, MQB platform, reinforced suspension, 6-speed automatic transmission, and production in São José dos Pinhais, Paraná.
The next model to be launched is the Honda Civic Type-R, the spicier and sportier variant of the midsize model, which will mark the return of the Civic hatchback to Brazil. When it comes to SUVs, Honda will prioritize the hybrid CR-V before the Accord.
The Accord and CR-V use the same e:HEV hybrid system, which is more powerful than the technology in the Civic Hybrid. However, the two use separate platforms.
The electric system that powers the vehicles produces 207 horsepower and 34.1 kgfm of torque, quite comparable to the Civic: 184 horsepower and 32.1 kgfm of torque. However, all three come with the same engine, which serves as a power generator, a 2.0 four-cylinder.
The Front of The Honda Accord Hybrid Features Slim Headlights Linked to The Grille, While The Bumper Has Trapezoidal Air Openings Linked to A Gray Trim
When compared to the previous version of the Honda Accord that was sold in Brazil, the 2024 model is much more subdued. The front has slim headlights fixed to the front grille, and the bumper has trapezoidal ventilation openings connected to a gray finish. The excessive chrome of the previous generation has been set aside.
Just so you know, chrome is present only on part of the window frame in the new Accord. The coupe shape of the vehicle has been preserved, with the trunk lid positioned at an angle parallel to the glass. However, the overall body contours have been limited to give it an appealing look. The taillights are interconnected, and their overall design is quite sophisticated.
As was the case before, the interior of the Honda Accord Hybrid makes it resemble a Civic. The air vents are interconnected, and the multimedia center is suspended. Additionally, the steering wheel is the same. The air conditioning controls are designed according to the current Honda standard, which starts with the City, goes through the HR-V, and finally reaches the large Accord sedan.
Price information for Brazil has not yet been disclosed; however, it is reasonable to expect that when the Accord is launched in the second half, its price will not be less than R$ 300,000.
