The Vessel Belongs to a Company from Bahrain and Will Replace the Felinto Perry (K11), Which Has Already Been Decommissioned by the Navy’s High Command
The Felinto Perry (K11) ship of the Brazilian Navy will be decommissioned. After its decommissioning was decided by the Navy’s upper management, the vessel is set to be replaced.
To this end, the Brazilian Navy is negotiating with Adams Offshore WLL, based in Bahrain, for the purchase of its 4,100-ton Adams Challenge vessel.
The vessel sought by the Navy specializes in supporting underwater activities and has already been inspected by a delegation from the Brazilian Naval Force, consisting of officers from the Submarine Force Command (ForSub) and the General Directorate of Navy Material (DGMM).
The retired Felinto Perry (K11) of the Navy had serious propulsion issues and was decommissioned last year.

According to information from “Naval Power,” the Adams vessel is docked at the port of Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates, and the amount the Brazilian Navy will pay for the ship has not been disclosed.
Technical Characteristics
The ship has the capacity to accommodate 98 people, including crew members and rescue specialists, has a length of 85 m, a beam of 18 m, and a draft of 8 m.
The bow helipad can accommodate aircraft the size of a Eurocopter AS332L Super Puma, weighing 9 tons, loaded for takeoff.
The vessel is equipped with dynamic positioning and electric systems, enabling it to perform diving and ROV operations, thus making it an offshore support vessel.
The propulsion of the Adams Challenge is equipped with a dual azimuth propeller at the stern, while the lateral thrust is provided by dual azimuth equipment at the stern and three transverse thrusters at the bow, one of which is a retractable azimuth unit.
The vessel also has a diving bell for 12 men and a saturation diving system in accordance with the regulations of the International Marine Contractors Association.
