The new 2024 version of the Mercedes-Benz Class A200, presented to the enthusiast public in Rome on the A Roda channel, stands out for its 1.3 Turbo engine, shared with models such as Oro and Duster, and now integrated with the M Hybrid system. With a subtle facelift and modest performance, the 2023/2024 model raises questions about its value compared to competitors Audi A3 Sportback and BMW 118i.
The 200 Mercedes-Benz A2024 comes equipped with a 1.3 Turbo engine, which, although economical, offers performance that is considered limited, with 163 horsepower. The model suffered a small facelift and included the M Hybrid system, promising increased power and efficiency in some situations.
The model, which stands out for its fuel economy, is less powerful compared to competitors such as the Audi A3 Sportback, with more than 200 horsepower, and the BMW 118i, which has a 1.5 horsepower 140 engine. During testing, the 200 A2024 achieved an average of 9.9 km/l in the city and 16.4 km/l on the highway, with a 43-liter tank.
Design and details
In terms of design, the model features changes to the front grille and rear lights, maintaining the elegant style characteristic of Mercedes-Benz. The vehicle's interior continues to offer comfort and technology, highlighted by the new steering wheel and adjustable ambient lights.

However, the model has its criticisms, mainly related to the suspensão considered harsh for urban roads and with a gearbox that sometimes hesitates when changing gears. A vehicle performance, although safe and stable, it does not reach the level of excitement expected for a Mercedes-Benz model, especially considering its price of R$ 335.000,00.

Compared to its competitors, the 200 A2024 finds itself in a challenging position. The Audi A3 Sportback, for example, offers more power and a lower starting price, making it a more attractive option for those looking for a balance between performance, luxury and value for money.
Despite its qualities, the Mercedes-Benz A200 2024 faces difficulties in standing out in a competitive segment, where performance and added value are decisive. The model, although it brings the brand's typical quality and comfort, does not seem to fully meet expectations regarding power and driving dynamics. Fuel economy and onboard technology are strong points, but the high price and modest performance may limit its appeal in the premium midsize hatchback market.
