The transformer was developed to support a project being carried out in Simões Filho (BA) by Power Engenharia. The transformer, model 5/6.25 MVA 69CST/13.8 kV, is among the main equipment that operates using vegetable oil developed by WEG.
In addition to contributing to environmental conservation, transformers that use vegetable oil have a longer lifespan compared to those using diesel oil.

While the world looks at forests, the UN warns that the Earth is also threatened by the silent degradation of natural grasslands and savannas, ecosystems that cover half of the planet, support billions of people, and can exacerbate water, food, and climate crises.
WEG continues to develop the transformer to ensure that the equipment is delivered by the end of this month. After the delivery of the vegetable oil transformer, manufactured by WEG, the equipment will proceed to installation at Bomix, a company in the injected and blow-molded packaging segment.
WEG’s Participation in a Sustainable Project
A member of the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), WEG participates in a project conceived by the UN (United Nations), which aims to create actions that generate less impact on the environment.
This project adopts 17 actions aimed at achieving 197 targets that contribute to the improvement of natural resources.
