Developed for the Brazilian Market, the Transformer Built by Siemens Energy Will Serve the Infrastructure, Industry, Ports, Airports, and Solar Energy Market
The multinational Siemens Energy presents the new GEAFOL LITE dry transformer, which was developed exclusively to meet the Brazilian infrastructure market – such as data centers, shopping malls, ports, and airports, all segments of industry, and also the solar market, which plays a significant role in the transition of the Brazilian energy matrix.

The GEAFOL LITE features the exclusive Siemens Energy vacuum encapsulation technology, ensuring the absence of partial discharges, which is a market differentiator.
According to Vagner Lucca, Operations Manager for Distribution Transformers at Siemens Energy in Brazil, the new transformer available on the market reinforces the company’s pioneering role in customized energy solutions:

The most expensive stadium on the planet cost R$ 30 billion to be built in Los Angeles and will host eight games of the 2026 World Cup. The 110-meter screen is larger than the playing field itself, and the roof projects videos that airplane passengers see during landing at the airport.

The vertical neighborhood with 656 apartments starting from R$ 234,000, which is being built in Blumenau, is expected to be ready in three years. MRV’s mega-condominium occupies a 70,000-square-meter plot in Velha Grande and qualifies for band 2 of Minha Casa Minha Vida.
“We are keeping up with the evolution of the energy sector and investing in the technological adequacy of our products to the Brazilian reality. The GEAFOL LITE model maintains the technology of the renowned GEAFOL transformers, but the LITE line is more economically accessible, adding even more value to all operations,” says the executive.
Advancement of Renewable Energies Will Increase Demand for Siemens Energy Transformer
Vagner also expects a significant increase in demand for this type of solution due to the advancement of renewable energies and the decentralization of energy generation, as the transformer can also serve Brazil’s solar generation segment.
“In the future, this enormous solar market could place the country at the center of the debate on sustainable development, given that Brazil has the second-largest solar photovoltaic generation potential on the planet. Our solution anticipates an energy trend in Brazil.”
Sustainable Technology
The transformer developed by Siemens Energy offers an ecological advantage, as 94% of the equipment’s composition can be recycled and returned to the production chain after its usage cycle. It does not generate toxic and contaminating waste.
This technology aligns with Siemens Energy’s goal of reducing its ecological footprint, promoting a low-carbon economy both internally and externally, and integrating its business with Sustainable Development Goal 13 (Climate Action) set by the United Nations.
The executive notes that the transformer is flame-resistant and self-extinguishing, providing greater safety for users. “The design of a safe and non-harmful product to the environment allows its installation inside electrical rooms without the need for firebreak walls, ensuring people’s safety. Another possibility is outdoor installation, with IP43 or IP54 enclosures, without the need for civil construction investment.”
