Discontinued In Brazil, Toyota Hatch Leads Profitability Indicators In The Used Car Market, Driven By Quick Turnover, High Margin And Constant Demand, In A Scenario Of Rising Sales And Average Appreciation Of Seminovos In 2025.
Even though discontinued in Brazil, the Toyota Yaris Hatch appears as the car with the best return for resellers in the used car market, according to the Megadealer Used Vehicle Performance (UVP) study, released in October and produced by Auto Avaliar.
The survey indicates that the hatch had an average price around R$ 98 thousand, average margin of 11.3% and inventory turnover of 25 days, a combination that, for the sector, indicates high demand and quick restocking in stores.
The market reading is straightforward.

The 2026 electric Vitara arrives in Brazil and proves that Suzuki is not leaving: 4×4 traction, 184 hp, 61 kWh LFP battery, 293 km range, R$ 259,000, and a trunk capacity of 224 L.

Hyundai has unveiled the Boulder, a square SUV with a body-on-frame design, 37-inch mud tires, and carriage-style doors that seems to be made to take on the Ford Bronco and the Scout Traveller in the United States.
-
The Toyota Hilux is R$ 75.5 thousand cheaper and bets on the 2.8 turbodiesel engine with up to 204 hp and 50.9 kgfm to catch up with the VW Saveiro, which leads with 4,472 sales.

The new Renault Koleos has a screen exclusively for the passenger that is invisible to the driver, heated rear seats, and 29 assistance systems, but its Chinese competitors cost R$ 40,000 less and deliver more power.
When the vehicle enters the inventory with a known history and in good condition, it tends to sell quickly, both in physical showrooms and digital platforms.
As a result, retailers have begun to treat the Yaris Hatch as a model with above-average liquidity in 2025, even without the strength of the “new car” boosting the product’s image.
Profitability Ranking In The Used Car Market
The UVP measures, among other factors, the average time a car remains in stock and the margin practiced in resale, two variables that help explain why some models are seen as a “safe bet” in the daily operations of stores.
In the case of the Yaris Hatch, the 25 days of turnover suggest a short buying and selling cycle, which reduces capital costs and exposure to depreciation while the car is stationary.
Furthermore, the average margin of 11.3% registered in the study places the model at the top of the profitability ranking for the analyzed period.
Even though the values vary according to year, version, mileage, and origin, the result indicates a pattern.
When the Yaris Hatch arrives with regular documentation and timely maintenance, it tends to attract interested buyers quickly.
Yaris Out Of Production Maintains High Demand In The Used Car Market
The Yaris has been discontinued in the Brazilian market but hasn’t lost relevance in the used segment.

Production destined for Brazil was halted on December 31, 2024, and the model stopped being offered as a new vehicle in the country after stocks were depleted at dealerships, according to specialized automotive publications.
Despite this, demand remains at a high level due to recurring reasons in the consumer behavior of seminovos.
Predictable maintenance, reputation for reliability, and ease of resale continue to be decisive factors.
In practice, part of the audience prefers to close a deal on a car already known in the market, with a broad history of use and assistance, rather than risk less established models in the same price range.
Another point weighs in the decision.
The Yaris Hatch often appears in stores and classifieds in well-equipped versions with CVT automatic transmission, which increases interest from those seeking comfort in urban use.
When this equation is combined with good preservation, the result tends to be a queue of offers in a short timeframe, according to reports from the market itself gathered by vehicles that reported the study.
Toyota Dominates Ranking With Corolla And Corolla Cross
The Toyota dominance in the survey was not restricted to the compact.
The Corolla appears as the second in profitability, with average price of R$ 142 thousand, margin of 10.2%, and approximately 29 days of turnover, still according to the UVP from October.
Shortly after, the Corolla Cross emerges in third place, with average price of R$ 157 thousand, margin close to 10%, and stock time similar to that of the sedan.

This data reinforces a trend in the used market.
SUVs continue to have high demand, but profitability depends on the balance between the asking price, sales speed, and the cost of acquisition of the car by the store.
Meanwhile, the repeated presence of models from the same brand in the top ranking positions indicates a consumer behavior seen in other times of budget tightening.
The preference is for vehicles with a good reputation for after-sales service, predictable maintenance, and consistent liquidity.
Average Price Of Used Cars Rises Again In 2025
The study also recorded an increase in the average ticket in the seminovo and used market for the second consecutive month.
In October, the average value reached R$ 89,654, an increase of almost 1% compared to September, when the average ticket was R$ 88,840.
The increase in the average ticket helps explain why models with good sales turn have become a priority in stock purchases.
With tighter prices, making the wrong choice can mean a car sitting for longer and lower margins at the end of the month.
On the other hand, when the retailer chooses the right product and pricing, the short turnover tends to compensate.
Used Market Sells More Than 1.7 Million Vehicles In October

The pace of transactions also remains strong.
The National Federation of Motor Vehicle Dealers reported that 1,765,539 vehicles were sold in October, a 4% increase over September, when the volume was 1,697,167 units.
From January to October, the total reached 15,244,066 transfers.
With this performance, the entity projected that 2025 could approach 18 million units by the end of the year.
This activity reinforces the scenario observed in stores.
The competition for cars with high liquidity is expected to increase when the sales volume remains high.
In this context, the Yaris Hatch emerges as an example of an out-of-line model that continues to operate as a valuable asset in the used car market, combining quick turnover and above-average margins.
With an average price close to R$ 98 thousand and stock turning in about 25 days, which other discontinued cars can still surprise in 2025 by repeating this performance in the seminovo market?
