The president Javier Milei achieved a significant victory in the Argentine legislative elections on October 26, 2025, consolidating his political dominance and increasing the power of his party La Libertad Avanza in the National Congress.
According to sources and the Argentine electoral authority, the party secured over 40% of the votes, greatly surpassing the opposition blocs in both the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate.
Expansion of Political Base and Dominance in Congress
The elections renewed 127 of the 257 seats in the Chamber of Deputies and 24 of the 72 in the Senate. In this scenario, La Libertad Avanza secured 64 seats in the Chamber and 13 in the Senate, raising its representation to 93 deputies and 19 senators.
