MISC Signed A New Long-Term Charter Contract Worth US $ 525.6 Million (US $ 2.16 Billion) With Brazilian Oil Company Petrobras
MISC stated that its wholly-owned subsidiary AET Tanker Holdings Sdn Bhd received the contract for the ownership and operation of three new construction Suezmax DP2 tankers for operations in Brazilian and international waters on behalf of Petrobras, and it seems that the company MISC would also be interested in hiring some Brazilians to join its workforce.

“AET is MISC’s oil shipping unit and specializes in global maritime transportation of oil”, the group stated in a release to Bursa Malaysia. “These new ships will add to the six (four currently under construction) regular-sized DP2 Suezmax tankers chartered to Petrobras for operation in the Brazilian Basin”, it added.
MISC Said The New Charter Contract Is Expected To Start In 2022
MISC’s shares closed up 1.4% or 11 cents to RM7.96, valuing the group at RM35.53 billion. A total of 6.85 million shares were traded. This is a positive balance compared to the same period last year.

Furthermore, with this new contract established with major Petrobras and MISC, the idea is for both powers to unite regarding job creation. Although the contract will only take effect from the year 2022, it was reported by MISC’s official portal that new job openings will be available soon; if related to the new partnership, Brazilians may enjoy working theoretically for Petrobras through a contractor.
