Inauguration Featuring the Presidents of Modec in Brazil and Worldwide Will Meet the Demand of the Company’s Operations in the Campos Basin
At a ceremony that included suppliers, clients, partners, sector institutions, and employees, as well as the presidents of Modec in Brazil, Takashi Nishino, and the global CEO, Yuji Kozai, a new operations base was inaugurated last Thursday (08/01) in the city of Macaé, in the Northern Fluminense region.
The new base is strategic for Modec due to its strategic location that the city of Macaé has in the oil and gas scenario in Brazil and aims to further support the logistics of its vessels that will enter operation in the coming years.
Last year, Modec began operating the FPSO Cidade de Campos dos Goytacazes MV29 at the Tartaruga Verde and Tartaruga Mestiça wells.

According to Yuji Kozai, the global CEO of the company, “Today, Brazil is at the center of the global offshore oil and gas market and has incredible potential for the coming years. We have been here for over 15 years supporting growth and want to help Brazil strengthen its operations. The majority of our fleet and employees are in the country.”

The investment in the new base demonstrates our commitment to offering even better support for offshore operations and satisfying our clients.”
Modec’s Operations in Brazil
Modec has been operating in Brazil since 2003 and started its activities in the Campos Basin with a contract for the construction, operation, and maintenance of the FPSO Fluminense.
From there, the company managed to charter the FPSO Cidade do Rio de Janeiro MV14, FSO Cidade de Macaé MV15, FPSO Cidade de Niterói MV18, and FPSO Cidade de Campos dos Goytacazes MV29.
