Chinese Automaker Nio Unveiled A New Ultra-Fast Charger, Capable Of Charging 80% Of An Electric Car Battery In 12 Minutes
The Nio Day 2022 event, which took place on Saturday (24), was the stage for the unveiling of new developments from the Chinese automaker Nio. The brand was able to announce its new 500 kW ultra-fast charger, capable of charging 80% of an electric car battery in just 12 minutes. Like the rest of the company’s charging network, it will be able to be used by vehicles from other brands. Additionally, Nio presented the new version of its electric car ES8, which will arrive in the local market in June 2023.
Electric Cars From Other Brands Will Be Able To Take Advantage Of The New Nio Charger Technology
Owners of electric vehicles from other brands who want to take advantage of the technology provided by Nio to charge their batteries ultra-fast will be able to use the brand’s new 500 kW charger. Even if they are not like Nio’s electric cars, which can swap batteries on their own at the brand’s stations, other cars can also utilize the automaker’s ultra-fast charging technology.
According to Nio, its new 500 kW charger is capable of charging up to 80% of the battery of an electric car on an 800 V platform in 12 minutes. However, if the car is 400 V, it will take about 20 minutes to charge the same percentage.
