Global Women: Driving Female Entrepreneurship
To start exporting, it is crucial to know the demands of foreign buyers, customs processes, and different regulatory standards, face trade barriers, and other challenges. For women entrepreneurs, the challenge may be even greater, as only 14% of exporting companies and 13% of importing companies are predominantly owned by women, according to the Women in Foreign Trade study by MDIC.
According to CNI’s Internationalization Manager, Sarah Saldanha, the acceleration of international e-commerce in recent years offers an opportunity for increased revenue and sales volume, valuing workers, allowing access to new markets, and providing flexibility for women to drive company growth.
‘An initiative focused on Brazilian companies led by women is essential to further encourage female entrepreneurship in the industry, and the opportunities go far beyond the domestic market. With the program, we want to help these leaders build e-commerce strategies to successfully operate abroad as well,’ explains Sarah.
