The company plans to build 27 new solar power plants in the country by the first quarter of 2022, which will increase energy generation capacity to 70 megawatts (MWp). The company also signed contracts to implement at least 240 efficiency projects in the coming months.
CEO Mourgue states, “We need to try to predict what will happen after the first wave of photovoltaic projects. We are working to integrate solar energy with energy efficiency. We are also studying solutions for floating photovoltaic projects. Brazil is lucky to have a spectacular solar resource; the country’s potential is phenomenal.”

Despite the crisis triggered by the pandemic, the multinational’s energy performance contracts increased by 40% in 2020.
“By the end of 2019, we had reached 1,000 contracts, and in the span of just one year, we managed to close another 400. It is worth noting that this performance occurred in a very atypical year, with a pandemic, which generally causes agreements to be frozen or shelved, waiting for the market to recover,” affirms the executive.
