According to the decree, the new protocol will come into effect on October 18, 2025.
The update of the convention is regarded as an important step for companies operating simultaneously in both countries, allowing greater predictability regarding tax collection and defining the country responsible for the main taxation of each operation.

Strategic Partnership And Next Steps
The recent measures mark another step in the strengthening of diplomatic relations between Brazil and India, which maintain partnership in the BRICS group and in forums such as the G20.
The new agreements aim to create institutional conditions to deepen bilateral cooperation, focusing on investments, taxation, and the protection of confidential data.
The progress of these instruments will be monitored by technical committees from both governments, responsible for detailing implementation procedures and monitoring results.
The Brazilian government estimates that the execution of these measures will contribute to a more predictable business environment between the two countries.
With the formalization of these agreements and the resumption of the bilateral agenda, which sectors are expected to benefit first from the new framework of cooperation between Brazil and India?
