Bold Forecast from BYD
BYD has a bold forecast for this year 2024. In total, the company expects to sell 100,000 cars.
This forecast, according to the cited journalist, has proven to be feasible. This is based on whether the vehicles stored in the portyards are sold throughout the remainder of 2024.
To Circumvent the Taxes
According to Jorge Moraes, this batch of vehicles arrived in Brazil due to a strategy aimed at circumventing the high taxes due to the new import tax rate for electric and hybrid vehicles.
In July, the percentage will increase from 10% to 18%.

BYD and Its Giant Ship
BYD’s giant ship began operations in January this year when it docked at the port of Yantai, in Shandong province, China.
This is the first time it has come to South America. According to the UOL journalist, the ship has the capacity to transport up to seven thousand vehicles.
This high capacity is possible due to its dimensions: the structure measures 199.9 meters long and 38 meters wide.
Finally, the communicator reports that this new batch of cars from BYD is arriving in Brazil to meet a new demand in the Brazilian market for electric and hybrid vehicles from the brand.
In the first five months of 2024, the Chinese company registered more than 25,500 units. This number is 43% higher than that recorded for the entire year of 2023, when 17,900 BYD vehicles were registered.
