A Small Principality in Europe Concentrates an Unusual Registration Ranking, with a Sports Car at the Top and Premium Brands Rising, Amid Specific Tax Rules and a Market of Few Thousand Vehicles.
The Porsche 911 ended 2025 as the best-selling new car in Andorra and repeated a result that had already occurred in 2024.
The sports coupe topped the annual ranking with 86 units, three more than the previous year, according to data from Jato Dynamics reproduced by Autoesporte.
With this volume, Andorra appears as a singular case in the statistics: it is the only country where the 911 is in first place in the annual registration ranking.

In larger markets, luxury models usually concentrate sales in specific ranges and generally fall behind cheaper vehicles.
The leadership of the 911 also helps explain why the local automotive market is often cited as atypical.
The model has a price of around 140,000 euros in Europe, a high value for a car that, in other countries, typically competes with niche sports cars.
Andorra’s Tax System and Impact on the Automotive Market
The most common explanation for the phenomenon involves the tax system of the principality.
Andorra adopts a tax structure that is lower than that of its European neighbors, and the maximum income tax rate is 10%, a factor that attracts residents with greater purchasing power, as described in the report.
Another highlighted point is the tax burden on combustion vehicles, which tends to be lower than that of other regions on the continent.
As a result, some buyers acquire cars in the country and then take the vehicle to other markets, according to the same investigation.
This consumption logic also appears outside the automotive sector.
The difference in taxes and prices is noted in the sale of electronics, perfumes, and beverages, and Andorra has earned the nickname “Paraguay of Europe,” associated with shopping tourism.
Size of the Country, Population, and Effect on Registrations
The country has about 80,000 inhabitants, which makes the annual sales volume naturally limited.
In a market of this size, variations of a few dozen units have a greater impact on the ranking than they would in countries with millions of registrations.
Even with this characteristic, 2025 recorded growth in the total sold.
There were 2,511 vehicles registered in the year, a 10% increase compared to 2024, according to Jato Dynamics.
Ranking of Best-Selling Cars in 2025 in Andorra
After the Porsche 911, the Toyota Yaris Cross took second place, with 63 units, and the Seat Arona occupied third place, with 57.
Next, the Mercedes-Benz GLC came in fourth, with 55, maintaining a premium brand SUV among the best-selling vehicles.

In the mid-ranking, the Cupra Formentor added 47 sales, while the Renault Clio recorded 43.
The Cupra Terramar came right after, with 40 units, and the Mini Cooper closed the next group with 38.
In the lower positions of the top 10, the list includes a commercial vehicle.
The Ford Tourneo Custom had 36 registrations, a number equal to that of the Hyundai Tucson, also with 36, according to the table presented by the report.
Best-Selling Brands and Highlight for Premium Manufacturers
When the focus is on automakers, BMW ended 2025 in the lead, with 204 units, a growth of 29% compared to the previous year.
Mercedes-Benz came in second, with 200 cars, and Toyota completed the podium with 164.
Ford appeared in fourth place, with 160 units, and Porsche finished in fifth place, with 159.
The result places a brand focused on sports and luxury cars among the five largest in the country, something rarely seen in national rankings.
Another data point noted as particular to the Andorran market involves the comparison between brands of opposing profiles.
In 2025, Ferrari registered 56 cars, while Suzuki totaled 50, according to the same source used in the survey.
