According to the governor of MS, the municipality is experiencing constant economic development with the construction of the Suzano pulp factory, and to achieve the best performance from the investment, the government will continue to enhance the areas, paving the MS-338 and the road to the unit, building new classrooms, and investing in the fire brigade and military police. The expansion in the health sector will include the construction of a hospital by Suzano, with the support of the State.

Verruck claims that the state accounts for 27% of the product’s exports, and with these investments, the state will maintain its position in the national ranking.
Suzano’s Pulp Factory Receives Investments of R$ 19.3 Billion
The governor took the opportunity to present to the presidency the project for the revitalization of the western grid, which could be essential for the transportation of the produced goods. The installation of the new production unit of the company in Ribas do Rio Pardo, which will create thousands of jobs, involves an investment of R$ 19.3 billion, with R$ 14.7 billion of that total allocated for the industrial part, and the remainder for logistics infrastructure, forestry activities, and other planned initiatives in such projects.
The unit will begin its operations in the second half of 2024 and, during the peak of its construction, it is expected to generate around 10 thousand direct job openings, in addition to thousands of indirect jobs. Once completed, Suzano’s factory is expected to provide jobs for 3 thousand people, including outsourced workers and in-house employees. Being a global reference in the production of bioproducts derived from eucalyptus, the company claims that the Cerrado project is the most efficient in its portfolio concerning the carbon emission level estimated after the start of operations, which is very low.
The factory will have the capacity to produce around 13 million tons of pulp and 1.4 million tons of paper per year at the start of operations. Also present at the meeting was Eduardo Rocha, the state secretary of government and strategic management. To check the available job openings at the company, click this link.
