New Toyota Corolla Cross 2026 in the top-of-the-line hybrid version (XRX) gets more expensive, even with sales down in January. New features include a 360º camera and a warranty of up to 10 years.
The new Toyota Corolla Cross 2026 is already on the roads in Brazil. The XRX Hybrid version, top of the line with hybrid powertrain, looks visually identical to the 2025 model. However, the model recorded a significant drop in sales in January 2025.
Nevertheless, its price has recently increased. The updates are minimal, highlighting the addition of a 360º camera and, mainly, the extended warranty option.
Line 2026 arrives after recent facelift; sales fall in January
The Corolla Cross underwent a facelift in April 2024, as the 2025 model. At that time, it received a new front design, redesigned wheels, and internal improvements (digital dashboard, larger multimedia system). The 2026 line keeps this look.

Despite selling well in 2024 (47,700 units, behind Compass and HR-V), the SUV started 2025 with low sales. In January, only 1,858 units were registered, far fewer than its main competitors.
Price Increases, But Extended Warranty Is New for the New Toyota Corolla Cross 2026
Even with the weak results in January, Toyota raised the price. The new Toyota Corolla Cross 2026 in the XRX Hybrid version now costs R$ 219,980. The previous price was R$ 215,990. Among the new equipment features, the XRX Hybrid 2026 version now includes a 360º camera. The main change, however, is the extended warranty.
The car maintains the 5-year factory warranty. However, the owner can extend this warranty up to 10 years (or 200,000 km for passenger cars). To do this, it is mandatory to perform all services at the Toyota dealership, every 10,000 km.
Design and Internal Space

The new Toyota Corolla Cross 2026 design follows the standard introduced in the 2025 line. It retains the honeycomb-style front grille, full LED headlights, and 18-inch wheels (225/50 tires). The dimensions are the same: 4.46m in length and 2.64m in wheelbase (shorter than the sedan). The trunk offers 440 liters and includes a temporary spare tire.
The interior can feature a light finish. The rear seat space is adequate. There are air-conditioning vents and USB-C ports for rear passengers. The sunroof is of the conventional type, not panoramic. The taillights are not full LED. The trunk lid has electric operation.
Hybrid Powertrain: Efficiency in Consumption, Modest Performance
The mechanical set of the XRX Hybrid version is the well-known hybrid system from Toyota. It combines a 1.8 combustion engine with Atkinson cycle (up to 101 hp) with an electric motor (72 hp). The total combined power is 122 horsepower. The performance is quite modest for a car at this price point. The 0 to 100 km/h test recorded 13.1 seconds.
The positive highlight is fuel consumption. In testing, it achieved 16.9 km/l in the city and 14.8 km/l on the highway. Urban consumption is better because the system uses the electric motor more at lower speeds. The small battery is recharged by the combustion engine and through regenerative braking.
Urban Comfort and Safety with Toyota Safety Sense
The handling of the Corolla Cross Hybrid prioritizes comfort. The suspension (torsion beam at the rear) is soft and absorbs urban irregularities well. It is more comfortable than the Corolla sedan but feels softer in corners.
The driving position is good, and access to the car is easy. The noise from the combustion engine can intrude into the cabin when under more demand. The car comes with the Toyota Safety Sense package. It includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and other active safety features.
New Toyota Corolla Cross 2026 vs. Hybrid Competitors
At R$ 219,980, the new Toyota Corolla Cross 2026 XRX Hybrid faces strong competition. Hybrid rivals, such as BYD Song Pro (R$ 180,000 – R$ 200,000) and GWM Haval H6 HEV (R$ 214,000), offer more performance and technology. Many competitors are plug-in hybrids, with greater electric range and lower consumption.
The Corolla Cross is slower and has fewer features (criticized multimedia, no power seat for the passenger). Its strong points continue to be the recognized reliability of the Toyota brand, and now the possibility of extended warranty for up to 10 years, an important differential for those seeking long-term peace of mind.
