With Production Confirmed in Iracemápolis (SP), GWM Poer Will Have a Hybrid Version of Over 400 Horsepower and a Diesel Option to Challenge the Leaders with Cutting-Edge Technology and Aggressive Pricing.
The Brazilian mid-size pickup market is about to be transformed. A new national pickup with hybrid powertrain, over 250 horsepower, and a price calculated to impact the leaders is coming. Its name is GWM Poer, a vehicle that promises to initiate a new era with local production, cutting-edge technology, and an unprecedented strategy in the country.
The Key to Competitive Pricing
GWM has confirmed that the Poer will be a national pickup. Manufacturing will take place at the modern factory in Iracemápolis (SP). This decision is the cornerstone of the brand’s strategy.
Producing in Brazil protects the vehicle from currency fluctuations and import taxes. This allows GWM to offer the pickup at a more stable and aggressive price. Additionally, local production ensures the availability of parts and a more robust after-sales support, a crucial point for Brazilian consumers.

A Hybrid Version and a Diesel Option to Conquer Brazil

GWM will not bet on a single version. The company will tackle the market on two fronts with the Poer.
The first is the GWM Poer Hi4T, a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version. This will be the showcase model, focused on high performance and technology. The system combines a 2.0 turbo gasoline engine with an electric motor, delivering a total power of 408 hp and an impressive torque of 77.9 kgfm.
The second is the GWM Poer P30, equipped with a 2.4 turbodiesel engine producing 184 hp and 49.0 kgfm of torque. This version targets the traditional consumer and agribusiness, which today represent over 95% of segment sales.
Technology and Performance That Challenge Competitors
The standout is the hybrid version Poer Hi4T. Its 37.1 kWh battery allows a range of up to 110 km in pure electric mode. This means that, in daily use, many owners can drive without spending fuel. The performance surpasses that of any diesel competitor, offering the power of a V8 with electric efficiency.
In addition to the engine, the Poer stands out for its size. With approximately 5.41 meters in length, it is one of the largest in its category. Inside, the finish promises the “comfort of an SUV”, with a multimedia center of up to 14.6 inches and a digital instrument panel.
The pickup will also come with a complete driver assistance package (ADAS Level 2+), including adaptive cruise control, lane assist, and cameras with 360-degree vision.
GWM Poer vs. Hilux, Ranger, and S10
GWM’s pricing strategy has been calculated to pressure the leaders. Market estimates place the Poer in the range of R$ 270,000 to R$ 340,000.
The diesel version, Poer P30, with its 184 hp, will compete in price with the top-of-the-line four-cylinder versions of the competition, offering more space and technology.
Meanwhile, the hybrid Hi4T version, with its 408 hp, will be positioned to compete with the more expensive diesel variants, such as the Ford Ranger V6 (250 hp) and the Toyota Hilux GR-S (224 hp), but offering almost double the power for a similar price. This new national pickup creates a new dilemma for the consumer: the traditional strength of diesel or the superior performance and efficiency of hybrid technology.
