The new solar panel factory in the state of Paraíba
The initial investment in the new solar panel factory is around R$70 million. According to the company representative, Olavo das Neves, the Paraíba factory will be the largest of its kind in Latin America. The expectation is that 150 solar panels will be produced per year.
The solar panel factory already has 18 square meters of built area and should start receiving production equipment starting next week. “There will be 40 to 50 carts of products that will arrive at the industrial park”, he said.
The operation should start in October, with a work shift. “We must have 100 employees per shift”, stated Olavo Neves. According to him, the expectation is that, shortly, a second round will be started, and perhaps a third. In addition, it is estimated that 3 indirect jobs are generated by the factory. He also said that he is preparing a partnership with the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB) to offer internships to students of the institution's Renewable Energy course.
