CSN Will Invest R$ 3 Billion in the Cement and Limestone Factories in Itaperuçu
CSN will make an investment of approximately R$ 3 billion to establish the cement and limestone factories in Itaperuçu, Paraná.
The National Steel Company estimates that this cement factory will be one of the largest ventures in the sector in Brazil.
During the construction of the factories, CSN expects to create 15,000 direct and indirect job vacancies, in addition to 3,000 permanent job vacancies after the factories’ completion.
The project is part of CSN’s strategy to expand its operations in Paraná, where the factory will be installed.
The total area of the enterprise is 5 million square meters, which will make the cement factory one of the largest in the country.

Importance of the Project for the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba and Paraná
The installation of CSN’s factory, with Amep’s favorable opinion, is considered a significant advancement for the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba and for Paraná.
The cement factory will be built in an area designated as a Preferred Zone for Mining (ZPM), according to the RMC Mining Master Plan.
Gilson Santos, president of Amep, highlighted that the impact of the installation of the cement factories will be positive for Itaperuçu and for the entire metropolitan region.
According to him, “in the next stages of the environmental and municipal licensing, the compensations aimed at the installation of the enterprise will be discussed.”
