The GWM Haval Veyron Will Soon Arrive on the Asian Market to Dethrone BYD. The Automaker Decided to Focus on Embedded Technology and Deliver Up to 460 Horsepower.
A new SUV is about to arrive and complement the GWM family. This is the Haval Veyron SUV, which had its images revealed by the Chinese Patent Office. In the records, the vehicle, which shares the name with the successful supercar from Bugatti, impresses with its design. Thus, the GWM Haval Veyron is expected to enter the automotive market to compete with another local rival, the BYD Tan, and will bet on technology for that.
New Haval Veyron SUV Promises to Deliver Up to 460 Horsepower
Another “trump card” of the model will be the hybrid powertrain. The new GWM SUV will be a plug-in type and will use the brand’s unprecedented Hi4 technology, which will also equip the Poer pickup that will soon arrive on the Brazilian market.
The powertrain consists of a gasoline turbo engine, along with two electric motors, one for each axle. Thus, the electric motors may or may not work together with the combustion engine, potentially delivering a combined power of 460 horsepower.

New Haval Veyron SUV May Arrive Priced Around R$ 137 Thousand
Despite everything, its positioning among the brand’s offerings sold in China is above models like the already known H6 and the Raptor. However, details such as the interior of the GWM Haval Veyron have not appeared, though there is an expectation that there will be quality materials, as well as much embedded technology.
Additionally, the model will have the capacity to carry up to 7 passengers, which would place it in competition with other vehicles of this configuration in Brazil, for example. The Haval Veyron SUV does not yet have a final price defined in its local market; however, it is certain that it will start at 200,000 yuan, which in direct conversion to our currency is equivalent to around R$ 137,800, for example.

As mentioned earlier, the GWM Haval Veyron will be one of the main competitors to the BYD Tan, an SUV that features electric powertrains and ample interior space. The Tan has two electric motors, each positioned on each axle, and a battery with a capacity of 86.4 kWh.
The front motor generates 245 horsepower and 33.6 kgfm of torque, while the rear motor delivers 272 horsepower and 35.7 kgfm. Together, the two motors provide 517 horsepower and 69.3 kgfm of maximum torque. Its acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h can be achieved in as little as 4.6 seconds.
