Margaritaville at Sea Confirms Arrival of New Ship Costa Fortuna to Its Fleet by 2027. The Vessel Will Be the Largest of the Company and Will Mark a New Phase of Brand Expansion.
Margaritaville at Sea has confirmed the incorporation of a new and robust ship to its fleet. This is the Costa Fortuna, a vessel currently operated by Costa Cruises, which will officially be transferred to the brand at the end of 2026 or early 2027. With this addition, the company solidifies its expansion and prepares to launch its largest ship to date.
Costa Fortuna Ship: Power and Capacity to Enhance the Onboard Experience
Weighing in at an impressive 102,500 gross tons and accommodating 3,450 passengers, the Costa Fortuna stands out as the largest vessel in Margaritaville at Sea’s fleet so far.
This capacity represents an increase of approximately 30% compared to the brand’s first ship, the Margaritaville at Sea Paradise, launched in 2022.

According to the CEO of the company, Christopher Ivy, this addition represents a strategic evolution. “We believe this is the ideal next step for us,” he stated.
The ship’s structure will allow for the introduction of unprecedented areas and enhancements to the experience offered to guests.
Transformation and New Concepts on Board
Until the end of 2026, the Costa Fortuna will continue operating under the Costa Cruises flag. After this phase, it will undergo a complete adaptation to fit the style and proposition of Margaritaville at Sea.
The company has not yet revealed what the home port of the new ship will be.
With 13 decks and more than 1,340 cabins, the vessel will be reconfigured to incorporate innovative concepts while maintaining the elements that already appeal to the brand’s cruisers.
“We can do more in terms of new spaces and ideas, building on what already works well today,” Ivy explained.
Among the planned innovations is the creation of a space dedicated to honoring so-called “heroes” — professionals in the fields of security, health, and armed forces, reinforcing the company’s commitment to social recognition.
History of Growth of the Margaritaville at Sea Fleet
The company’s journey in the cruise sector began in 2022 with the launch of the Paradise. In 2023, the Islander was integrated into the fleet, both also coming from Costa Cruises.
Now, with the announcement of the Costa Fortuna, the company reaches its third ship and reaffirms its growth strategy based on transforming already established vessels.
The arrival of the new ship represents a significant step for Margaritaville at Sea, which continues to bet on innovation and expansion while maintaining its thematic identity and commitment to unique and engaging nautical experiences.
