Couple buys a century-old ruin in the French countryside for around $170,000, leaves their life in Paris behind, and spends four years renovating almost everything with their own hands, amidst costly mistakes, international volunteers, and a new way of living.
The expectation, according to the government, is to facilitate the traffic of vehicles and contribute to the flow of goods in strategic areas.
Interventions Linked to the Pulp Industry
Among the approved projects is the restoration of highway MS-377, which connects Três Lagoas to Inocência.
The contract is valued at R$ 23.9 million and provides for the recovery of the pavement on the stretch that connects the two municipalities.
The work is expected to accommodate the flow of heavy vehicles that circulate in the region, where the new Arauco pulp factory is located in Inocência.
The enterprise has been identified as relevant for the economic development of the eastern part of the State.
The Secretary of Infrastructure and Logistics, Guilherme Alcântara de Carvalho, stated that the projects aim to meet a new reality of growth and integrate the regions more efficiently.
Connection Between Strategic Roads in Ponta Porã
Another intervention will take place in Ponta Porã, a municipality that borders Paraguay.
The project provides for the implementation and paving of highway MS-380, on the stretch that connects the urban perimeter of the city to BR-463 and also to MS-164.
The work will be carried out with funding from the BNDES and has an estimated cost of R$ 62.5 million.
The proposal is to create a route that facilitates the connection between urban areas and federal highways, with potential benefits for regional transport and local commerce.
According to the government, the paving of MS-380 is part of an integrated development plan aimed at modernizing the road network in areas considered strategic.
Urban Works in Rio Verde
The municipality of Rio Verde de Mato Grosso will also receive funds for urban improvements. A total of R$ 15.8 million will be invested in asphalt paving and stormwater drainage in various neighborhoods.
According to the Secretary of Infrastructure, the works aim to improve local traffic conditions and provide greater safety for the population. It is expected that the interventions will contribute to urban mobility and reduce flooding problems during the rainy season.
Expansion of the Road Network and Support for Growth
The three works are part of a package of investments aimed at state infrastructure. The government’s proposal is to adapt road conditions to the increased traffic in regions undergoing industrial or urban expansion.
The interventions encompass different types of projects—from urban pavements to improvements in logistical corridors.
The state management points out that the set of works is in line with the economic growth of the State and the need for modernization of the road network.
No official announcement has been made regarding the start of the works or deadlines for completion.
