Piracanjuba Is Starting Construction of Its Cheese Factory in Paraná, Expected to Produce Over 1,300 Liters per Day and Create Over 250 Job Opportunities by 2025
In the southwest of Paraná, 450 kilometers from Curitiba, lies the municipality of São Jorge D’Oeste, which has a population of 9,000 inhabitants. In the coming years, the municipality will host the largest cheese factory in the country, to be built by Piracanjuba. At the end of last year, despite the pandemic, Piracanjuba announced its new project, which will cover a constructed area of 54,491.71 m². The estimate is that around 250 job opportunities will be generated.

Piracanjuba Factory Will Produce 1,370 Million Liters of Milk Per Day
According to Cesar Helou, Superintendent of Piracanjuba, the factory will be the company’s third dedicated to producing butter and cheese and will have a processing capacity of 1,370 million liters of milk daily.
In the first phase, expected to be completed in the first half of 2024, the factory will produce butter and mozzarella. In the second phase, the unit, which will create numerous job opportunities in Paraná, will host an industrial complex for whey drying that will be used as an input for other productions, and a long-life milk factory.

Unit Will Be Fully Operational in 2025

With land clearing works already underway, the architectural project of the new Piracanjuba factory in Paraná, which will create various job opportunities, was presented to the mayor of the municipality and the Minister of State for Agriculture, Livestock, and Supply.
During the opportunities presented, the authorities were informed about some details of the new factory in Paraná, the architectural project, and the technology to be used in the installation.
The Minister congratulated the company for the project that will create various job opportunities and income for the region, adding more value to the national agribusiness and dairy chain. It is estimated that by the second half of 2025, the factory will be fully operational.
