After Approval of BNDES Financing of 191 Million for Solar Power Plants in Interior of SP, Powertis Portal Indicates Start Still This Year.
With financing of R$ 191 million from the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES), the Spanish company Powertis S.A. will build three photovoltaic plants, with an installed capacity of 90 megawatts (MW) of energy, in the municipality of Pedranópolis (SP).

Powertis belongs to the Soltec Brasil group – Industry, Trade, and Renewable Energy Services Ltd. According to BNDES, this is the second financing approved by the institution for the company for solar generation projects. Last October, the bank approved credit for the construction of the Araxá Photovoltaic Complex (MG), worth R$ 194 million.
According to the Superintendent of the Energy Area at BNDES, Carla Primavera, the approval of this new financing for the Pedranópolis Photovoltaic Complex, “reflects BNDES’s commitment to the development of clean and renewable energy sources.”
More Than 1,400 Job Vacancies Will Be Generated in the Solar Energy Industry
The project of the solar power plants will be implemented in the municipality of Pedranópolis, in the Northwest of São Paulo, and is expected to generate nearly 1,400 jobs. The operational start is anticipated for December 2021.
The Pedranópolis Photovoltaic Complex is an investment by Powertis, a company of Spanish origin belonging to the same group as the solar panel support manufacturer Soltec Brasil.
This is the second financing from BNDES for solar generation projects to the company. In October, BNDES also approved credit for the construction of the Araxá Photovoltaic Complex (MG), worth R$ 194 million.
