Vale renews railroad contracts in ES and works to build the Cariacica-Anchieta stretch should generate many jobs in the state
The Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) approved yesterday (29/07) the renewal of the concession of two railroads managed by Vale: Estrada de Ferro Vitória a Minas (EFVM) and Estrada de Ferro Carajás (EFC). The mining company's investment is estimated at around R$ 21 billion and ES should benefit from the generation of many jobs with the works.

The expectations are that construction and hiring for the works on the Ferrovia Litorânea Sul will begin between the end of 2021 and the beginning of 2022.
The document signed with Vale provides for BRL 3,2 billion for the construction of 383 kilometers of the Ferrovia de Integração do Centro-Oeste (Fico) and a new section from Cariacica to Anchieta (ES), which is included in the project to make the Port of Ubu.

“The Litorânea Sul will be a great instrument for the development of ES”, said the governor of ES, Renato Casagrande.
According to the Minister of Infrastructure, Tarcísio Gomes de Freitas, “is the consolidation of an innovative solution to build a railroad in Brazil without using public resources. Cross-investment, using grants from railway concessions, is one of the main strategies of the Federal Government to double the participation of this mode in the national transport matrix. We are showing that the budget constraint will not be an impediment to developing the country's infrastructure.”
The EFC and EFVM railroads are considered the safest in Brazil and leaders in environmental performance, according to an assessment carried out by the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT).
Governor of ES celebrates Vale's railway and says that the project will stimulate development in the state
The Governor of Espírito Santo stated that the Anchieta stretch will be the first step towards a modern railway line to Rio de Janeiro. According to him, the works will bring more development to ES and stimulate the operations of other companies, in addition to Vale.
“Since the beginning of our mandate, we have been seeking to improve our infrastructure so that Espírito Santo becomes a more competitive state, generating income and jobs for the people of Espírito Santo”, added Casagrande.
