“The four vessels, 152,000 DWT, were built according to Petrobras’s technical requirements for DP2 tankers in collaboration with SHI, DNV-GL, and Eaglestar and will fully comply with IMO NOx Tier 3 and SOx emission requirements”, said AET.
Each vessel is equipped with electrically driven cargo pumps to enhance fuel efficiency, high-power thrusters, and is fully capable of operating in the expected weather conditions for its class.
“AET, along with the teams from Eaglestar and Samsung Heavy Industries, took extra health and safety precautions, given the pandemic situation, to ensure safe and successful construction and deliveries”, stated AET.
“These second-generation DP2 tankers are a testament to AET’s ongoing commitment to high-quality and eco-responsible operations”.
Currently, AET operates eight DP2 tankers and has nine more shuttle tankers under construction to be delivered between 2020 and 2022.
