The first Omoda Jaecoo stores in Brazil will start operating on the 10th of next month, and the goal is ambitious to reach 150 sales points by 2028. The first dealership is already open, located in the East Zone of São Paulo, and all stores will follow a well-defined visual concept: on one side Omoda, with its futuristic vehicles, on the other, Jaecoo, with rugged and adventurous SUVs.

In addition, all stores of the new Chinese brand will feature exclusive after-sales spaces to ensure comprehensive service. The only exception will be the unit on Avenida Europa, in the capital city. The Omoda Jaecoo debuts with two main models which are:

  • Omoda E5, a 100% electric crossover, for those looking to fully step into the future of mobility;
  • Jaecoo 7, plug-in hybrid SUV, which has been specially adjusted for the national market.

And there’s more news, as in the coming months, a conventional hybrid version of the Omoda 5 will also arrive, along with a fourth model yet to be revealed this year, with an expected launch by the end of 2025.

Possible Omoda Jaecoo Factory in Brazil

In addition to the new stores, the brand has already secured three shipments of vehicles coming to Brazil and two more batches are being negotiated. The cars are arriving at the port of Vitória (ES) between the end of March and the beginning of April. The big question is about domestic production.

The new Chinese brand has already shown interest in the factory in Jacareí (SP), currently under the control of Chery and Caoa. Although negotiations have yet to advance, the brand reaffirms that it plans to produce vehicles in Brazil well before 2028.

Unlike other Chinese brands like BYD and GWM, Omoda Jaecoo will not tie its domestic production to sales volume. Thus, regardless of initial demand, the new Chinese brand aims to produce its models here as soon as possible.

The fact is that the arrival of Omoda Jaecoo in Brazil adds more fuel to the fire of the SUV and electric market in Brazil. Now it remains to be seen whether the new brand will win the hearts of the Brazilian market. The answer will start to show in the brand’s new stores and cars next month.

The New Cars of Omoda Jaecoo in Brazil

The first to arrive here will be the Omoda 5 hybrid. The crossover is part of a course correction promoted by the Chinese brand, which is part of the Chery group. The initial idea was to launch the mild hybrid version, which shares a mechanical set with the Caoa Chery Tiggo 5X and Tiggo 7.

However, the company opted for the unprecedented full hybrid (HEV) based on the same 1.5 turbo gasoline engine, but with direct fuel injection and operation in Miller cycle.

The Jaecoo 7 will be the first car of the new Chinese brand featuring the Super Hybrid System (SHS). According to the company, SHS technology is a solution for highly efficient vehicles that deliver excellent performance.
