Port of Vitória Enters a New Era with Unprecedented Operation, Connecting Modern Logistics, Port Efficiency, and Operational Technology
The Vila Velha Port Terminal (TVV) conducted an unprecedented and highly relevant operation for the logistics chain of Espírito Santo on July 30, 2025. Thus, the terminal operated by Log-In Integrated Logistics in Capuaba established itself as a key player in port movement by receiving the largest Panamax vessel ever unloaded at the Vitória complex.
Unprecedented Operation Drives Modernization of the Port of Vitória
The operation took place on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, with the vessel Legendary Diva, managed by Orion Rodos and coming from China. Therefore, the ship, which brought 33,000 tons of fertilizer, was unloaded at berth 202, within the area managed by Vports.
Consequently, the Legendary Diva, without onboard cranes and with a gross tonnage of 83,000 tons, required exclusive use of the modern port mobile harbor cranes (MHC) of TVV, a unique equipment in Capuaba for this type of operation. Thus, the movement became a milestone for the terminal, as it directly reflects the cycle of modernization and technological expansion carried out in recent years.

Technological Advances and Operational Adjustments Establish a New Level
According to Gustavo Paixão, Terminal Director of Log-In, “the terminal underwent a cycle of infrastructure renewal, expansion of the back area, incorporation of new technologies, and acquisition of large-scale operational equipment, such as MHCs. Therefore, these advances significantly increased terminal productivity, making it possible to execute increasingly complex operations on a larger scale.”
Furthermore, for the operation to take place, Vports implemented strategic adjustments to the docking regulations of the Port of Capuaba. Thus, there was an increase in the permitted gross tonnage limit, from 70,000 to 83,000 tons, and also a review of the minimum daily productivity requirements. Therefore, these updates clearly demonstrate the ongoing pursuit of greater efficiency and safety in operations.
Another essential factor was the dredging of the port channel, conducted between April and May 2024, ensuring a draft of 12.5 meters with an investment of R$ 30 million. As a result, the Port of Vitória began to allow access for larger vessels, which was immediately reflected in the arrival of the Legendary Diva.
Modernization Increases Efficiency and Logistical Attractiveness
For Gustavo Serrão, CEO of Vports, the expansion of port logistics capacity was a strategic goal. He emphasizes: “The change ensures service to bulk carriers and general cargo ships, with greater efficiency, enhancing our cargo handling capacity.”
Additionally, Paixão highlights that the joint action between Log-In and Vports was crucial to enable the operation, primarily ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. In this way, the regulatory updates created a favorable environment for large-scale operations, raising the standard of the Port of Vitória and opening space for new types of cargo and vessels.
Impacts on the Logistics Chain and the Capixaba Economy
The operation, completed in July 2025, represents a strategic advance for Espírito Santo’s logistics, offering a modern alternative for the transportation and reception of bulk commodities. The highlight particularly pertains to the direct impact on the agribusiness supply chain, especially in coffee production, which has a strong presence in the Capixaba economy.
According to Paixão, by enabling agile and robust logistics operations, TVV contributes to the efficiency of supply and strengthens the port infrastructure of Espírito Santo. Therefore, he emphasizes: “TVV now presents itself as a comprehensive solution. We have structure, safety, agility, and a suitable regulatory environment to operate bulk commodities on a large scale. This is a milestone for us, for the Port of Vitória, and for Espírito Santo as a whole.”
Log-In Integrated Logistics: Profile and Operational Scope
Log-In Integrated Logistics, responsible for TVV, offers customized logistical solutions, port movement, and coastal navigation integrated with various modes and services. Thus, it connects Brazil and Mercosur by land and sea. Currently, it has a fleet of nine container ships, with a total capacity of 24,366 TEUs, operating regular routes linking the main ports of the country to Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay.
In addition to TVV, Log-In manages an intermodal terminal in Itajaí (SC), dedicated to specialized logistics operations. Also, through Tecmar, a company of the group, it offers robust road services, including Less than Truckload (LTL), Full Truckload (FTL), warehousing management, and container transportation. Therefore, with over 1,300 own vehicles and a network of 50 warehouses, the company covers the entire national territory.
Integrated Solutions and National Logistics Innovation
The integration between the extensive road network for the distribution of less-than-truckload shipments and Log-In’s coastal navigation created the Road Cabotage product. Thus, the service combines the best characteristics of the road and maritime modes. This ensures a unique and highly efficient logistics solution for the national market.
