Hyundai Motor Reaches 10 Million Km With Hydrogen Trucks, Promoting Clean Energy and Carbon Reduction
The Hyundai Motor XCIENT Fuel Cell trucks have covered a total of 10 million kilometers in Switzerland, demonstrating the reliability of these energy vehicles over the long term. This achievement will help reduce carbon emissions equivalent to the creation of 5 million square meters of pine forest.
So far, the Hyundai XCIENT Fuel Cell trucks are operational in 10 countries, including the United States, Switzerland, Germany, France, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Korea, Israel, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. In Switzerland, the trucks reached this milestone in just three years and eight months since they began operating in October 2020.

Technical Specifications and Energy Efficiency
Currently, there are a total of 48 XCIENT Fuel Cell trucks operating in Switzerland. These trucks are equipped with two 90 kW fuel cell systems each (totaling 180 kW of power) and a 350 kW electric motor, allowing them a range of over 400 km.

China has just successfully tested the world’s first ground effect maritime vehicle, a craft that flies up to 6 meters above the water at 200 km/h, uses quantum technology and 6G communication, and can rescue patients in the middle of the ocean.

The extratropical cyclone that formed in the ocean is already pushing a cold front with heavy rains over the South of Brazil, and meteorologists warn that Thursday will be the most dangerous day, with significant amounts of rain and cold advancing into Paraguay.

When a comet breaks apart, the exposed ice should shine immediately, but C/2025 K1 ATLAS remained in luminous silence for two days while Hubble recorded every detail, and this previously unobserved behavior could change the way we understand the interior of these objects.

A 1953 Fusca that almost no one knows exists can be auctioned for R$ 570,000 in Brazil, and the reason it is worth so much money surprises even experienced collectors.
Compared to a fleet of conventional diesel trucks, which would emit approximately 6,300 tons of carbon dioxide while covering 10 million kilometers, the XCIENT Fuel Cell trucks achieve a significant reduction in carbon emissions. This reduction is equivalent to the amount of carbon absorbed annually by approximately 700,000 pine trees, or the creation of a pine forest of 508 hectares.
Use of Green Hydrogen and Energy
All XCIENT Fuel Cell trucks in operation in Switzerland use exclusively “green hydrogen,” meaning no greenhouse gases are emitted during its production, thereby contributing to creating an eco-friendly hydrogen value chain in Europe.
Continuous Innovation and Future Vision
This achievement also plays a crucial role in advancing hydrogen fuel cell technology and energy. Hyundai Motor continuously analyzes vehicle data on mileage, hydrogen consumption, and fuel cell performance to improve its technology and apply it to different types of vehicles.
Hyundai Motor not only provides XCIENT Fuel Cell trucks in Switzerland but also actively supports the creation of a hydrogen business ecosystem, including the entire value chain of production, charging infrastructure, and hydrogen consumption.
At CES 2024, Hyundai Motor announced the expansion of HTWO, a brand established in 2020 for its hydrogen fuel cell system. HTWO will now serve as the business brand for the entire hydrogen value chain for the Hyundai Group, covering production, storage, transportation, and usage, thus accelerating the transition to a hydrogen-based and sustainable energy society.

Projects and Commitment in the USA
In May, Hyundai Motor presented its vision for hydrogen and introduced its clean logistics business in the USA at the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo 2024, underscoring the company’s commitment to building a hydrogen and sustainable energy society.
As part of its key hydrogen logistics projects in the USA, Hyundai Motor has implemented the NorCAL ZERO Project, which involved launching 30 XCIENT Fuel Cell trucks in California for container cargo and vehicle transportation. Additionally, the Clean Logistics Project aims to reduce emissions by launching XCIENT Fuel Cell trucks at the Hyundai Motor Group production plant, HMGMA, in Georgia.
Recognized for their reliability and environmental respect, the XCIENT Fuel Cell trucks have been launched in 10 countries, establishing themselves as a viable and sustainable solution for heavy cargo transportation globally.

A tendência é o híbrido.
