China has erected a 294-meter tower in the sea to form the world’s widest road-rail bridge and prepare a giant crossing with a 1,488-meter span between strategic islands of the country’s largest coastal archipelago. The structure is part of the Xihoumen Bridge, a project designed to accommodate trains and vehicles in the Ningbo-Zhoushan railway corridor in Zhejiang province.
