QatarEnergy and Excelerate Energy Sign Long-Term LNG Sale and Purchase Agreement to Meet Energy Needs.
The supply of LNG from Qatar to Bangladesh will be made through a long-term contract signed between QatarEnergy and Excelerate Energy, ensuring a continuous supply of liquefied natural gas to the Asian country.
With the LNG supply contract in effect, Excelerate commits to purchasing up to 1 million tons per year (MTPA) of liquefied natural gas from QatarEnergy, which will be delivered at floating storage and regasification units in Bangladesh. This liquefied natural gas contract will last for 15 years and is set to start in January 2026, strengthening commercial ties between Qatar and Bangladesh.
Extension of the LNG Supply Agreement
We are very pleased to enter into this contract with Excelerate for the supply of up to one million two hundred thousand tons per year of LNG to Bangladesh. This new contract will further solidify our partnership with Excelerate while supporting the energy needs of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and its progress towards greater economic development‘, stated Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs, Chairman and CEO of QatarEnergy.
