Preliminary Information Suggests That BYD’s Electric Sports Supercar Will Have Four Motors With 240 kW (322 HP) Each
BYD is confident in its ability to establish its premium brand as a result of its growing success on a global scale. In addition to revealing its off-road electric SUV, the Yangwang U8, the Chinese giant also revealed its second premium vehicle, the Yangwang U9, an electric supercar with 1300 HP.
These are the first two models launched under the premium sub-brand of BYD, Yangwang, and both make their debut on the new platform known as e4.
At the launch ceremony, BYD’s global president, Wang Chuanfu, made the following statement: “The Yangwang brand will be the first to apply cutting-edge technologies from the BYD group and offer safety, performance, and experience to customers, even under extreme driving conditions”.

Chevrolet Tornado Van 2026 emerges as a compact van cheaper than many popular cars in Brazil, with a 1.5 engine, 6-speed manual transmission, 650 kg load capacity, 3.3 m³ of usable space, and fuel consumption of up to 18.1 km/l for about R$ 87,000 in tax-free conversion; an urban utility vehicle that Brazilians don’t have, but Mexico does.

Forget the basic popular car: used sedans like Passat CC, Kia Cerato, Nissan Altima, Mitsubishi Lancer, and Volvo S60 show that it’s still possible to buy more performance, comfort, and technology for less than many new compacts.

Used Honda Civic: 3 versions of the Japanese sedan with naturally aspirated engines of up to 155 hp, fuel consumption of up to 13.8 km/l, robust automatic transmission, and a reputation for reliable mechanics still dominate the used car market in Brazil.

Toyota Hilux becomes a ‘cargo truck’: automaker declares a new era for the pickup with greater capacity, reinforced chassis, 2.8 turbodiesel engine, raised suspension, 1,525 kg load capacity, and targets Ford Ranger Super Duty, which tows an impressive 4,500 kg.
The Yangwang brand will utilize the e4 platform in its electric supercar, which is distinguished by the independent propulsion of four electric motors and mass production in China. The e4 platform has a variable wheelbase and will equip future launches of the Yangwang brand.
As each motor has its own independent vector control, electric cars built with this design have the ability to adjust the dynamics of all four wheels.
Using its highly integrated and internally designed electric motor, models built on this platform are able to make a complete 360-degree turn on surfaces with good traction, such as asphalt.
According to the Official Statement, BYD Claims That the Vehicle Can Accelerate from 0 to 100 Kilometers Per Hour in Less Than 2 Seconds. This Puts It on Par With the Tesla Roadster!
Even if the steering and brakes do not function correctly, the e4 platform allows the electric Yangwang U9 to stop from 100 kilometers per hour in less than 40 meters. This is possible due to its independent torque output capability, which can be positive or negative.
BYD has not yet disclosed all the technical specifications, but preliminary information suggests that the vehicle will have four motors, each with 240 kW (322 HP). This will result in a cumulative power of up to 960 kW (1,300 HP).
The Yangwang U9 aims to be a high-performance electric car intended to compete on equal footing with high-performance models offered by other manufacturers in the market, such as the Roadster model from Elon Musk’s automaker, which still does not have an official launch date.
When considering the fact that the U9 will be much lighter than the U8, as well as the fact that its aerodynamics will be significantly more effective, it is likely that we are talking about one of the most exciting electric supercars currently on the market.
