Through the FPSO P-69 located in the Santos Basin, Petrobras successfully starts production at the asset today

About 290 km away from the coast of Rio de Janeiro, Petrobras has just informed that its FPSO P-69 successfully starts production in Lula Extremo Sul, at about 2.150 meters of depth. The unit was designed with a processing capacity of up to 150 thousand barrels of oil and 6 million cubic meters of natural gas every day, the P-69 will produce in eight wells and inject 7.

The Lula field is the most producing well in Brazil and is responsible for 30% of the country's supply. It was found in 2016 and belongs to Petrobras' concession in block BM-S-11 with 65% and its partners: Shell Brasil with 25% and Petrogal Brasil with 10%.

Andy Brown, director of Upstream at Shell said: “With significant flow rates, Brazil's deepwater projects are breaking even below $40 a barrel. We commend Petrobras on this production milestone and look forward to moving forward with further development plans with our consortium partners, as well as our newly acquired deepwater blocks in Brazil. ”

FPSO P-67 will be next

Following Lula Extreme South, the next FPSO is the P-67 for Lula North. The Libra product sharing agreement continues to progress with a well extended test run as well as the Mero 1 FPSO, additional FPSO's are being planned.

Petrobras and the Municipality of Maricá agree on the final details of the work on the Route 3 gas pipeline that will connect the pre-salt to COMPERJ. Check out the full article here.
