Petrobras subsea bidding

Companies gain two more months to deliver proposals to Petrobras. These are the oil company's only open subsea engineering tenders

The competition for Petrobras' subsea equipment for Mero 2 and Búzios V has just been postponed. Interested companies have two more months to study the project and detail the proposals. Equinor will hire a rig for Carcará!
Petrobras' new deadline has passed from this month of October to the 9th and 30th of December, respectively, and the bidding is in the EPCI molds (engineering, supplies, construction and installation).

favorite companies

Despite a strong demand for subsea equipment being expected in the market for the coming years, this Petrobras bid is currently the only large-scale one open in the market.
The biggest international companies in the sector are in the fight and we can mention as favorites the giants: Subsea 7, Saipem, Sapura, TechnipFMC and McDermott.

These are the only major competitions in the subsea engineering segment currently under way in the market. Potential bidders for contracts include McDermott, Saipem, Sapura, Subsea 7 and TechnipFMC.

Of these companies, TechnipFMC and McDermott have already won other contracts with Petrobras, but the others are still struggling to gain space.

The subsea EPCI contract for Mero 1 was awarded to TechnipFMC in February this year. Three months later, the McDermott signed the contract with Petrobras for the Sépia field, which, like Búzios, is in the transfer of rights area.

Petrobras is not likely to make further postponements, as it could compromise the development schedule of the fields and some equipment takes a considerable amount of time to be ready. The first Mero 2 and Búzios V oil is scheduled for 2022.

Speaking of subsea equipment, the 14th of October will go down in the history of Aker Solutions in Brazil. The company delivered the XNUMXth underwater tree for Petrobras projects in the pre-salt layer. In May of this year, the company's Paraná plant delivered a wet tree to Equinor.
