The leasing process for the GNL Regasification Terminal in Bahia and its integrating gas pipeline began at the end of 2019. However, the FSRU is not part of the terminal leasing process.
The initiative is in line with the Commitment Agreement for the natural gas market established with the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) in July 2019, which anticipates Petrobras’ exit from various links in the gas market, such as transportation and distribution.
About The GNL Regasification Terminal In Bahia
The GNL Regasification Terminal in Bahia (TR-BA) consists of an island-type pier with all the necessary facilities for berthing and mooring an FSRU (Floating Storage and Regasification Unit) ship directly to the pier and a supplier ship alongside the FSRU.
The transfer of LNG is done directly between the FSRU and the supplier in a side-by-side configuration. The maximum regasification flow rate of TR-BA is 20 million m³/d.
The gas pipeline integrating the terminal is 45 km long and 28 inches in diameter, connecting TR-BA to two delivery points, the São Francisco do Conde Pressure Reduction Station and the São Sebastião do Passé Flow Control Station.
