Agreement Signed Between Petrobras and Statoil Aims to Share Technology and Expertise for Revitalizing Mature Fields.
[supsystic-social-sharing id=’1′]Petrobras issued an official statement to the press on the last day 29 (Friday) informing that it has closed a partnership with the Norwegian oil company Statoil. This mutual cooperation agreement is actually a Preliminary Memorandum of Understanding, aimed at maintaining the commitment to evaluate new opportunities and technological cooperation in the oil sector.
According to the state-owned company, in the signed contract, both companies consolidate their objective of working together to maximize oil reserves in mature fields, with the initial main scope being in the Campos Basin. The HoA outlined the main directives of this Technical Cooperation Agreement, one of which is to increase the productivity of oil, gas, and the recovery factor of the assets involved between the two companies.
It is worth noting that the two operators are already working together in some blocks that are currently being explored in national territory, including the BM-C-33 sector, in which Statoil is the main operator. Petrobras also stated that the two companies are well aligned in their projects and are committed to boosting the economy of the Campos Basin and all the cities involved with the oil that will be recovered from these fields.

Economically Viable
The Campos Basin already has all the infrastructure such as pipelines, drilled wells, established companies with all their technological apparatus, and the recent pre-salt discovery in this region, which led Petrobras to bid with ExxonMobil for almost 90% of these blocks.
