Binding Phase Begins for Petrobras Refineries in the State-Owned Company’s Divestment Plans
Petrobras, following the announcement made on August 30, 2019, informs the start of the binding phase regarding the first stage of asset sales in refining and associated logistics in the country, which includes the Abreu e Lima Refinery (RNEST) in Pernambuco, Landulpho Alves Refinery (RLAM) in Bahia, Presidente Getúlio Vargas Refinery (REPAR) in Paraná, and Alberto Pasqualini Refinery (REFAP) in Rio Grande do Sul along with their corresponding logistics assets.
Potential buyers classified for this phase will receive an invitation letter with detailed instructions regarding the divestment process, including guidelines for conducting due diligence and submitting binding proposals.
This market disclosure is in accordance with Petrobras’ divestment guidelines and the special divestment regime for assets by federal mixed-economy companies, as outlined in Decree 9.188/2017.

RNEST is located in Pernambuco, has a processing capacity of 130,000 barrels/day (5% of Brazil’s total oil refining capacity), and has the potential to double its capacity with the entry of the second processing unit, potentially reaching 260,000 barrels/day. Its assets include a storage terminal and a pipeline system totaling 101 km.
RLAM is situated in the state of Bahia, has a processing capacity of 333,000 barrels/day (14% of Brazil’s total oil refining capacity), and its assets include four storage terminals and a pipeline system totaling 669 km.
REPAR is located in the state of Paraná, has a processing capacity of 208,000 barrels/day (9% of Brazil’s total oil refining capacity), and its assets include five storage terminals and a pipeline system totaling 476 km.
REFAP is situated in Rio Grande do Sul, has a processing capacity of 208,000 barrels/day (9% of Brazil’s total oil refining capacity), and its assets include two storage terminals and a pipeline system totaling 260 km.
