Petrobras' divestment program reaches seven platforms, all close to the end of their useful life, estimated at thirty years
That Petrobras is selling a good part of its assets, everyone knows, but now the oil company announces the launch of a public notice for the end of next year, aiming to auction three platforms, which are already out of operation, as Clik Petróleo e Gás had already announced.
The units will be the P-7, P-12 and P-15 platforms, which, according to the market, are valued at between US$ 250 and US$ 400 each.
In the short term, by the end of 2021, Petrobras plans to sell another four platforms, all of which are almost at the end of their useful life, which is 30 years.
The next units to be decommissioned would be the P-33 (Marlim field) and the PCA-1, 2 and 3 (Cação field). The first must be auctioned, like the first three, but the fixed platforms PCAs must be sold in a bidding process to hire a company specialized in dismantling platforms (decommissioning).

The bidding process for the decommissioning of the dogfish platforms is already underway at Petrobras and as the P-33 must also go through the same process, this market promises to become very promising in Brazil.
According to a survey by Sigma Consultoria e Perícia, there are around 73 platforms in the country that can be withdrawn from operation due to advanced age, which creates a sea of opportunities for companies in the sector.
Promising market
Sigma and the macLaren shipyard in Niterói, keeping an eye on the evolution of the decommissioning market, created the Integrated Decommissioning Center (CID) which is prepared to dismantle and clean the parts and even scrap the material, as stated by the director of Sigma, Mauricio Almeida.
The platforms would have two destinations to be chosen by Petrobras, to be taken to a CID for cutting and sale to steelmakers inside or outside Brazil or to be sold to small operators of mature fields (declining production).
Although these units to be auctioned by Petrobras are the company's oldest, as they will start operating in the 80s, in the Campos basin, there is still the possibility that small oil companies may appear interested in buying them instead of scrapping them.
The auction of second-hand platforms is not new at Petrobras, the company has recently held a bid to sell two other units, the P-27 and the P-34.
